Darkness
I don't mind the darkness, although I'm not very keen on driving at night. Looking up at the stars in a night sky is good (until it gets too cold). At the moment it's a full moon, so I've been leaving the bedroom curtains open a little so I can look at the moon as I fall asleep. I have no problem going into exhibitions which are held in darkness either. Equally, I like sunlight, and the days when it gets dark about four o'clock I find tedious.
Cars
I'm not a great fan of cars, but like having one for the convenience it gives me. As far as I'm concerned a car should start, get me where I want to go and stop. My current car is a green Subaru Citigo. I would recommend having a green car for the ease of finding it in car parks. The Son is a great car fan, and seems to change his car every year. I leave that up to him, but did make use of his expertise when choosing my new car.
Swimming
I used to go swimming regularly and enjoyed it, but no longer go. Partly it's the thought of having to drive there and back, when there's nowhere very close. On the occasions when we've stayed somewhere there's been a pool onsite I've swum every day.
