Potato Printing

It was Messy Church this morning.  Which, for those of you who haven't come across the concept, is family based activities held in a church.  Some of the activities are messy - and for some reason, which I haven't yet fathomed, I'm normally running the messiest.

Today we were potato printing.  Which gave me a slightly Sherlockian moment when I set off with my plastic box full of body parts.  Only in this case, pre-cut heads, bodies, arms and legs.  Anyone who wanted to could potato print a person, mixing and matching the different coloured paints (yellow, green, red, sparkly pink and black).  And lots of the children and one elderly gentleman in a wheelchair had great fun producing their people.  I have just about removed all the paint from under my fingernails.

I should probably add that I had picked the potatoes myself.  We grow potatoes at work and I'd been told I could have the rejects for free.  So one sunny afternoon this week I was wandering up and down the potato field picking up discarded potatoes.  Because everything can have a use.

Someone else was making pizzas, which is why whilst OH was cooking breakfast, I was wandering around the kitchen phone to my ear whilst I found the rolling pin.  He never bothers asking me what I'm doing - probably because he senses it's better not to know.
