Today was the last Brownie meeting of the term, because although the schools don't finish until the end of next week, there are so many plays, discos, concerts that most of the Brownies won't be free to come. In fact we lost three this week to their school play, plus one whose mum was heavily pregnant last week, so probably now has another baby brother or sister.

Last week we took them all to Frankie & Bennys for a meal out, rather than holding a traditional Christmas party. They all enjoyed it very much and we didn't have to do any clearing up (always a plus). The waitress was incredibly patient - 15 girls all trying to read what it was they'd ordered and she didn't bat an eyelid.

This week we all made floral table decorations - even the leaders. I am now the proud owner of what is actually not a bad looking decoration, with red and white carnations and large white daisies. And then, because we had time to spare we played games. It was the last night for one of our leaders (she too is expecting a baby) so she brought each of us (leaders) a beautiful bunch of flowers; bright orange and yellow roses and purple irises, very cheerful. So now our house is full of flowers. Up to now we only had a poinsettia, which my mum gave to me because they were 'buy one get one free'.

Three weeks off and then back to the fray as we head into The Big Brownie Birthday.
