New Year's Resolutions
I don't make resolutions in the formal sense, but New Year always seems as if it's asking for some. This year I thought of three: do some language learning every day; keep up to date with emails/notifications/comments; get more exercise. And by the end of January 1st I had failed at two - the third, the language learning didn't really count in the first place, since I've been using Duolingo to learn a bit of Italian since early December, so it wasn't a new resolution.
The thing is I probably could do a lot better if I was more organised. If I managed my time better. But I spend all day at work managing my time, or at least ensuring the urgent things get done before the deadlines (life really does work better if I submit the overtime before they calculate the wages), so I don't want to spend my weekends and evenings being organised. I don't want to feel guilty because I've spent too long on Tumblr looking at all the pretty. Well, only slightly guilty, because surely that's Tumblr's role.
On the good news front, I've calculated that if I write 160 words a day until the end of January I will have the requisite 10,000 words for Small Fandom Big Bang. And if I make writing those words a priority, which I have managed for the last three days, I should actually achieve it.
Anyone worked out what the ACD story that relates to my icon is?
