I made absolutely no progress this afternoon with the task I wanted to get done, because there were all sorts of things that needed processing, the phone wouldn't stop ringing "no we have no intention of relocating in the next two years", "yes, as I've already told you we want the ceiling painted white and the walls magnolia" etc; and then my boss wanted to look at the effect various salary increases would make on our budget.
