The Friday Five: Travel

Yes, I know I did a thefridayfive yesterday, which was Saturday, but this is last week's.

1) What's the furthest place you've traveled to in the last 12 months?
East Lydford in Somerset, which is about 75 miles away.  Pictures of the disused church.

2) What's the most interesting small town within driving distance?
Possibly Tewkesbury.  I don't seem to have any photos, except the waterlillies in the mill pond.

3) What's the coolest tourist attraction in your city?
Probably the cathedral. 

4) What was your favorite road trip you took as a kid?
Road trips weren't really a thing, just a means of getting on holiday, to be endured.

5) How often do you feel like you've got to get away?
I enjoy visiting new places, but rarely feel like I've got to get away.  Going to East Lydford was one such time though.

Yes, I agree. In some ways this was a particularly American set of questions, with the assumption you live in a city, and the reference to 'small town'.

I WANT to like road trips, because I think it's a neat way to accidentally discover stuff along the way, but I don't like long car rides. As you said: something to be endured. Boring.
