Wales - Places

We've just had a few days break in Wales, and rather than do diary entries, this post and the two following will have themes which were filled on different days.  I'm beginning with Places.

We were staying in Tenby, and this photo was taken early one evening, as the sun was setting.

On the way to Tenby we had stopped in a little town called Laugharne, which is where Dylan Thomas is buried.  This is the interior of a converted garage he used for writing, which has a view onto the estuary.

Just along the coast from Tenby is Saundersfoot, which does some excellent fish and chips.  This is a replica of a coastal schooner which used to take coal from the harbour, and was the reason why the harbour was originally built.  It's part of an imaginative heritage centre which should be open this summer.

We also visited the Bishop's Palace at Lamphrey - the country retreat for the Bishop of St David's, built around 1324-1347.

Lovely photos, especially the harbour and Bishop's Palace. There's so much to see and do in Wales and it looks like you made good use of your time there.

Apologies for the delayed comment. I'm playing catch up at the moment.

Your photos are fabulous! I especially like the ones from the Bishop's Palace at Lamphrey.

Tenby looks like a great place to visit! You'll have to let us know if you end up visiting the heritage centre in Saundersfoot.
