The Friday Five: Canned food

Last week's [community profile] thefridayfive

1. Do you buy and use canned food?
Yes

2. What is your favourite canned food?
Not sure I have a favourite, we have them more for their use than because I particularly like them.

3. Do you like some canned food better than the fresh or dried version of it?

Tinned tomatoes are very useful for cooking.  And tins of tuna etc are really useful.  And then there's baked beans.

4. Do you have a can that just sits at the back of the cupboard? has anything weird happened to it? or do you still plan on using it in the future?

We had a tin of spinach which we kept for years, thinking it might come in useful one day, but threw it out when we moved.

5. What is the weirdest thing you have seen canned?

No idea.

What a strange set of questions :-)
shallowness: Beautiful blue alien in front of colourful background (Zhaan Farscape wonders I've seen)

And then there's baked beans.

Yes, there are! I think the first lockdown was the first time I felt reassured by having tinned foods in my cupboards.

I've yet to see anyone who didn't find tinned tomatoes a great thing to have... especially in my country (Australia) where the fresh ones are currently, due to weather, covid delayes, all sorts of things, both poor quality and unbelievably pricey :(
