Craft - Month 7

Having been really keen on knitting over the last few months, I feel myself slowing down a bit.  This may change once I've finished my granddaughter's jumper - I should finish the second sleeve by the end of the week.  Photos once it's all finished. 

Here's what I've been knitting:

Santa's clothes line (which has gone to my granddaughter):



A gingerbread house and a Christmas tree:

 

Although having said I was losing some enthusiasm I've had another look through my books and found a cute owl and a penguin ...

I have begun the William Morris cross stitch which I had for my birthday:



With the latest lockdown Dare to Dabble didn't happen, but we were sent a kit for making some cards, and I spent a very pleasant, sticky 90 minutes making these:

     



I should add the craft tidy I had for my birthday is proving invaluable.

Thank you. The top part is relatively sparce, which is good because I've also been working on cross stitch Christmas presents (not pictured) and inevitably I'm working from the top down so the picture's not clear at the moment - it's William Morris' Strawberry Thief.

Ah yes! No exactly what I was remembering but I was pretty close. I thought the bird had spread wings, no doubt I'm confusing it with another design.

You look like you've been very busy! I'm always impressed with how you make 3 dimensional shapes with knitting. I, too, look forward to more of the strawberry thief. And the button idea is a fun one for cards.

The advantage of reducing my working hours! I wasn't sure how the buttons would work out, but having done the main card, I decided to do the little one as well because it turned out quite effective.

Does that mean the big cross stitch is finished? The new one looks lovely. I want to make some cards but the dining room table has been invaded by stuff from the lounge because we're reorganising. It all started when I couldn't read the subtitles on the TV or those scrolling news bars, and my optician's appointment was cancelled. The TV is now a great deal nearer but the lounge (and hence the table) is chaos. I'm feeling inspired by your button patterns!

Ah yes, the effect of making one small change, and the ripples hang around for weeks. I was surprised at how effective the buttons were, definitely worth trying out.

Your Christmas knitting projects are wonderful! I absolutely love Santa's clothes line!

Although I can only see a little of what you've done, the William Morris cross stitch looks very promising!

Your handmade Christmas cards are beautiful! I especially like the second design, but all the cards are fabulous.

With all these different crafts, I'm sure your craft tidy has been extremely useful!

Thank you. Santa's clothes line was fun to do! I'm sending the second card to my daughter - hopefully she'll like it too.

My craft tidy is great - I don't have different crafts scattered all over the place now.

Santa's clothes line was fun to do. I'm glad you like the silver tree, the sparkly card just begged 'use me'. A few years ago I'd never have thought I'd be into crafts in this way.

Thank you :) The gingerbread house turned out well - it has a card frame which I had to make (used a pizza box!).

Santa's clothes line is adorable! The cards are really nice too. I'm afraid I just don't have the patience for craft and I admire all the lovely things you put your hand to.

Thank you. I'm delighted you like them.

I'm not generally a patient person, and very little of mine reaches the standards of others because I cut corners and won't bother correcting small mistakes. I suspect for me it's as much the mental challenge. And I don't have the patience to write more than 10k for a fic!
