Crafts - August 2021
Another good crafting month, which feels particularly successful as I have finished my summer crafts and am all ready to tackle the autumn ones.
Dare to Dabble was sketching in the garden of Nature in Art.
I have stitched two coasters from a birthday kit I had received. I'm especially pleased as I created my own patterns, which I adjusted as I went on. I still have two coaster squares left, but they will wait until next year, and some new inspiration.

With those completed, I can now turn to Christmas cross stitch projects, for which I have a kit:

I also completed the Harry Potter hat, which The Daughter had given me for my birthday. Not a smart hat, but will be great for exercising locally.

A couple of week's ago, when we were leaving following our visit, our granddaughter said, "Granny, I don't have a winter scarf. Could you knit me one?" I have some wool left from the hat I knitted for her, which used the wool sent by the daughter when she wanted a hat knitting, so as per request I've begun.

I've knitted the next three squares of my throw

Which completes the Rowan Yarns Knitted with Love series. I'm now starting a Botanical Garden series of eight.
And lastly, I've begun knitting a cardigan for Granddaughter's Christmas present.

The Christmas kit looks fun, I'm sure you're eaget to start playing with it.
Granddaughter's scarf is growing fast, and the bobbles around the heart on the next square look very effective.
Has the red wool for the rainbow cardigan arrived yet or are you still waiting? It looks very pretty so far.

I began to do some stitching from the kit this lunchtime, having had a thought about who will get what.
The red wool should be with me in the next few days, so I won't have to wait long and starting one of the cardigan fronts will be feasible.

Glad to hear it. Waiting can be so frustrating.

I think it's great that your granddaughter asked you to knit her a scarf. I don't think I was that practical at her age, and I know that I probably took knitted items from my mom and grandma for granted. In any case, I'm sure that both the scarf and cardigan will be lovely.

My granddaughter is incredibly logical and has an impressive ability to put two facts together.

I've taken up knitting again last winter thanks to one of your posts, and I did finish a few small projects, but the very long scarf I'm knitting for myself will probably only be finished by the end of the next winter. It's too warm here for too long, I won't feel like knitting before November, probably.

I'm delighted you are knitting again, even if only for a few months in the year.

Those knitted squares look very cunning!
