Chester

Not long back from a few days' holiday, which began in Chester.

We both walked along the banks of the River Dee and took a boat trip along part of it:

We also walked around the city centre and along about half of the city walls - they measure about two miles, which we could have managed had we not already done a considerable amount of walking!

And we also visited the St John the Baptist church, founded in 1075 (no pictures) and Chester cathedral which was founded in 1092, which has some stunning stained glass.

It looks like you had a lovely time in Chester. I bet it would be really interesting to walk along the city walls, though I can understand why you weren't able to manage the full two miles if you'd already been doing a lot of walking.

You took some beautiful photos of the River Dee and the stained glass windows in Chester Cathedral! :-D

Gorgeous pictures and thank you for the postcard. I was meant to be in Chester last weekend for Fantasycon but for reasons I didn't manage to get there. Shame really, because it's a city I've always wanted to visit but never yet managed.
