Crafts - December 2025
As shown in my Christmas post, I continued with cross stitch cards - this is the last one:

And I began the calendar SAL for 2026. The theme this year is stamps celebrating events throughout the year. I didn't want to do the stamp outline, kept the picture:

I also finished off the cake frill I began last year but ran out of time:

I knitted a star

And knitted the final 4 squares for the KAL

The flowers need finishing, but there will be a pause, as J gave me yarn for Christmas:

Yes, I sent him a link with instructions as to how much and which colours to order. It turned out he'd done exactly the same last year. It's a great present - the fun of creating and then something to wear.

What are you knitting this time?

It's another jumper - with bold flowers on it.

What is a cake frill? I tried to look it up, but it still wasn't clear to me. What I've seen (that wasn't frosting) looks more like ribbon? That you wrap around a cake? Is that correct?

A cake frill is a wide ribbon that is wrapped round a cake. I ice the top of my cake (with what we call royal icing - icing sugar mixed into beaten egg yolks), but leave the sides uniced so put a cake frill round to make it look pretty.

I love the colours of the yarn you got! What is it going to be, a pullover for yourself, or something for a (grand)child?

It will be a pullover for myself - something nice and cheerful!

I thought that star was crochet at first glance, most are. And I don't crochet. Do you have a link to the pattern please?
no subject
I don't crochet either. I've DMed you the pattern, since I no longer have the link.

The cross stich pieces are wonderful, especially the Christmas card. I didn't comment, but I was impressed by the cross stitch letters in your Christmas post as well.
All of the knitted items are so pretty. I love the knitted squares, and I'm looking forward to seeing how that last knitted project turns out.

I'm delighted you liked all the cross stitch :)
So far my knitting is growing quite well.
