I do like owls.

Here are my owls (not real)



For the last month they have been off on their own adventure, promoting our church Saturday activity, tied in with The Grumpy Owl and the Joy of Christmas.

At which we had REAL OWLS!!!

The kids got to decorate biscuits as owls, made owl masks and owl bookmarks:

   

and, of course, meet the owls for themselves.

I've always loved owls as well. One moved in behind our house a few months ago and it made me think of home.

Adorable! <3 Just don't expose to the kids to the owls at feeding time please -- I always loved owls until I witnessed this at a RenFaire. It STAYS with you!

The owls were in a side chapel and families went in in small groups to get close to the owls. After which they were taken home in little carriers, like cat carriers, so nothing graphic.

I have the fluffy one on the top right, I think. Also must give a shoutout to owl-by-night, no longer active on DW but one of the best things about JS&MN fandom.

Awww, owls!

I went to a demonstration by a raptor rescue group many years ago; one of the things they showed us was how terrible a barn owl's vision is and how good their hearing is. The owl didn't react to motion a meter in front of them, but whne one person in the back of the auditorium clicked a pen, the owl immediately reacted.
