Our reason for choosing to stay at East Lydford was to enable us to visit Wells, a city we'd not been to before, with a famous cathedral.  So here's a picspam of Wells Cathedral:

Firstly, through the archway and in front of the cathedral

Then inside, looking down the nave and into the quire

The famous clock, both inside and outside

Jack hits his bell to signify the quarter hours, and the jousting knights come out above the astronomical clock.

It was a beautiful sunny day, great weather, but bad for taking photos of stained glass, nevertheless, I managed a few.

The light through a window reflected on a marble statue, and the chapel with the two world war dedications

And back outside.  The covered way between Vicars Close and the cathedral and details of the tower
