Ending on a high!

21 DEC: Winter Solstice: Do you get the blues in winter?
Not particularly, although cold damp days aren't my favourite.

25 DEC: Christmas: What’s your favourite Christmas tradition?
Having a Christmas meal out with The Daughter - we go just before Christmas to tie in with her shifts and eat a proper Christmas meal, which isn't worth making for the two of us.  Taking a photo of the decorated Christmas tree with the presents underneath.  Decorating the Christmas cake.  Watching the Call the Midwife Christmas special.

26 DEC: Thank you Note Day: Do you write thank you notes?
Do thank you emails count?  I do give cards to thank people for their help in activities.

28 DEC: Endangered Species Act Day: What’s your favorite endangered animal?
Tiger

31 DEC: New Year’s Eve: How do you ring in the new year?
Sitting in bed with a glass of bubbly and watching the fireworks out of the bedroom window!

12 DEC: Gingerbread House Day: Have you ever made a gingerbread house?
No, but one year when I was working for an organisation which provided supported living accommodation for young adults with learning disabilities we held a Christmas jumper day, which included decorating gingerbread people with Christmas jumpers which was great fun.

17 DEC: A Christmas Carol Day: Do you like Dickens’ A Christmas Carol? If so, what’s your favorite adaptation of the work?
Yes and I've enjoyed various fanfic versions of the story. I've even written a version in a modern day AU of The Hobbit, A Durin Christmas Carol and also A Christmas Hamlet in which the Ferret takes the role of Ebenezer Hamlet.  My favourite version though is A Muppet Christmas Carol.

19 DEC: Re-gifting Day: Have you ever re-gifted something?
I've passed on odd gifts to The Daughter, who does the same to me.  Although this isn't technically re-gifting since it's been more a case of 'I've been given this, would you like it?'

Penguins!!!

3 DEC: Giving Tuesday: When is the last time you were generous with time, money, or something else?
Yesterday - I gave a lady a lift to see her pseudo-granddaughter's Christmas play, which saved her having to spend a very long time on the bus.

8 DEC: Pretend to be a Time Traveller day: What time period in the past would you like to visit?
There's several I'd like to see, but I'd want to be in my own separate bubble, since I wouldn't want to actually live, even for a brief time, in any of them.

Short and sweet this time!

Mouselet, without a doubt.

17 NOV: Homemade Bread Day: When’s the last time you made bread or ate homemade bread?

4 NOV: Use Your Common Sense Day: Is common sense common?
If common sense were common a lot of accidents wouldn't happen. Also, how many times do we do something and wonder why we did them - little things, like taking something out of the oven, knowing it's hot and still managing to touch it? Too often our common sense is away with the fairies.

6 NOV: Saxophone Day: What’s your favorite musical instrument?
I like the clarinet, but I suppose it depends which musical piece it is - Beethoven's Emperor concerto sounds better on the piano.

10 NOV: Sesame Street Day: Who is your favorite Sesame Street character?
Oscar and the Cookie Monster

21 OCT: Reptile Awareness Day: When’s the last time you saw a live snake? What was your reaction?
To continue counting the number of Brownies we had walking through the reptile house.  Not that I thought any of them would be eaten, but it would have been very easy to lose one or two.  They were in uniform, but it was a wet day, so they were all wearing waterproof jackets, which were the same colours as those of every other small girl of their age and therefore they failed to stand out.

25 OCT: Global Champagne Day: Champagne. Yay or nay?
Yay.  Not my favourite drink, but I won't refuse a glass if you're offering me some

11 SEPT: Libraries Remember Day: Do you have a favorite library?
My local library - 20 minutes walk from home, or I pass it in the car as well.  They're very helpful and will always sort out why my reserved book seems stuck on a library shelf (not necessarily the library it belongs to).  Over of a third of the books I've read this year have been from the library.

For men to acknowledge that there are still barriers, most of which they don't even notice.

Not yet!

No!  I occasionally feature in selfies taken by The Daughter or The Husband

Does taking the ferry across to France count?

29 JUNE: World Camera Day: Do you own a camera (besides your phone)?
