Follows on directly from Into the Fire which finished with Greg said shakily, “Are you all alright?”  “Yes,” Molly replied.  “Are you?”

“Actually, I’m not sure I am,” Greg said.  “I seem to have been hit.”  He sat down suddenly.

“Oh for goodness sake,” Sherlock said.  “First John, now you.  Why am I surrounded by incompetents?”

“Sherlock, shut up!” Molly glared at him.  “Make yourself useful; pass me that bag and then get John sat up again.”

She opened the bag and took out a first aid kit.  Having inspected Greg’s arm she bandaged it and then put the arm in a sling. 

“You are not to move more than necessary, so sit against the tree,” she told him firmly.

Moving over to John she spoke quietly to him.  “Greg’s been shot, so we need you to help him.  He’s sitting next to a tree and we want you to keep him company.  Do you understand?”

John was still looking rather confused by the recent events, but something from his medical training made him nod.  Sherlock and Molly helped him over to sit next to Greg.

Molly then addressed Greg.  “And you are going to help John stay awake, okay?”

Greg too nodded.

Sherlock and Molly watched as John settled himself against Greg’s chest and Greg put an arm round him and said, “Come on mate, we’ll get through this together.”

Sherlock indicated to Molly to follow him back to the lane.  “I’ve had an idea,” he said.
