Back at Brownies with a slightly reduced pack size.  Two more left at Christmas and we only took two new ones in.  Sparkly Owl is away for two weeks, so having only 18 with two leaders will be a lot easier than 22.  But the others are all keen, so that's okay.  We have one Brownie who comes from a very disorganised family, but clearly she wants to come so someone always brings her.  And this week one girl arrived late - Dad has to pick her up from after school club and had forgotten it was Brownies, she arrived in her onesie and dressing gown (a party at school) and joined in regardless.

Last week we played games and then this week we began our half term theme "What it means to be a Brownie".  We looked at the Brownie story and had an active quiz to see how much they knew - their knowledge varied quite considerably.  We also discussed having a badge night, in which each of the girls is challenged to work on one of the Brownie badges at home and we then test them.  We do a lot of badges as a unit, but equally there are things which appeal to different girls and we want to encourage them to do something they specifically enjoy.

And finally we played Screech Owl says - a variation on Simon Says, which was highly entertaining.  At least for me - how long can I get half a Brownie pack to stand on one leg before they fall over?
