Almost Human
May. 14th, 2014 11:27 pmThe second episode aired here yesterday and I have to admit I'm hooked. I've seen so many screen grabs of the first couple of episodes that I wondered whether there was anything new to see. And yet there was. And the gifs etc that I have seen make much more sense in context.
I realise I'm only two episodes in, so there's a lot of character development yet to go, but I am taken with John Kennex. This may, of course, have something to do with being played by Karl Urban. Possibly. But the wounded guy with issues and with depths. Is anyone truly surprised here?
I've read various comments saying that Michael Ealy's Dorian is the real star. I like him, I like the repartee, I like the way he does understand people and that he calls Kennex out. He just doesn't do it for me in quite the same way.
And then there's Mackenzie Crook's Rudy. He's a good actor - I've seen him on stage. Rudy's a quirky character, and I think he's great. I like his humanity and his humour.
Will I read/write fanfic? I'd need to see some more episodes before I decide. At this stage I have no wish to read anything, but the idea of maybe writing the occasional comment fic has an air of possibility.
