Decisions, Decisions
Sep. 3rd, 2014 10:17 pmPutting this down in writing in the hope that it will help me to sort my thoughts out. Also, all comments gratefully received; possibly ignored, but all thoughts are appreciated.
Firstly: do I sign up for the small fandom big bang again this year? I wrote a Lewis case fic last year and I would be writing in the Lewis fandom again this year. Also the length, minimum 10,000 words (still long for me), would mean another case fic. Which I could do. If I wanted to. But it would be nice to be a bit more adventurous and have an undercurrent of something. What I don't want to write is a 'Lewis and Hathaway come to realise they were meant for each other' story - they're either going to be good mates all the way through, or already in a relationship. I also don't want 'a dark secret comes to light' story - quite happy with an unknown ability to help with a case, but something turns out to have a significant part is a no go. I'm also aware that series 8 will be shown this autumn, which could affect the story, but if this is set pre-Lewis retiring then hopefully it won't matter. At worst I can always add 'not canon compliant'.
Secondly: I'm thinking of going to see Shakespeare in Love at the theatre in London. It's had good reviews; many of my friends have seen it and recommend it. But, tickets are expensive, and then there is the train fare and taking a whole day to go. If I go on a Saturday I could meet up with someone before or after. Or I could take a day off work (I still have three unbooked) and go to a midweek matinée. The more I think about it, the more I feel inclined to wait for something I really want to see. Or will I regret not going?
Or maybe someone I want to see will be in a theatre in a different city from London. And I'll get to go on some travels again.

draycevixen and
fortesomniare I have signed up for the Big Bang. Prepare for obligatory moaning about lack of progress during the next few months.
