2.  Rice pudding.  Homemade with sultanas in it – delicious!  The daughter doesn’t like sultanas in her rice pudding, so we used to make one with no dried fruit at one end.  At least it stopped her from eating the lot.  Now we don’t have that problem – we don’t make such big puddings either.

3.  Reading in bed. Whether last thing at night, or in the morning when I don’t have to get up.  Just being able to sit back, relax and be transported to another world.

4.  Buying stuff on Ebay. Nothing expensive, cheap books, cheap DVDs, odds and ends I can’t find anywhere else.  My lovely Thorin magnetic bookmarks.  I rarely spend more than a fiver on a purchase.  Although my Thorin t-shirt cost £6.

5.  You, my lovely flist. I posted the start of Watson 1918 and asked for comments and not only did you say “please keep writing”, which is very encouraging – and what I (probably not so) secretly wanted to hear.  But you highlighted the areas which needed work and explained why.  All of which made me think about why I’d written Watson as I had, and therefore brought out all the ‘bits in my head, not on the page’ which do actually need to be included.

6.  Raspberries. I love the fruit, raspberry smoothies, raspberry yoghurts/fromage frais, raspberry cheesecake, raspberry and white chocolate muffins/cookies.   Anything raspberry.  But it does have to be red – none of these funny blue raspberry drinks.

7.  My new bookends.  Also an Ebay purchase.  They are handmade, antique (in that they are old) and Art Deco style.  They were quite possibly used by the person who made them.  And now the books on my new shelf no longer threaten to fall off the end in the middle of the night and land on my head.  The bookends came as a pair, but there isn’t room at the wall end of the bookshelf for the second one, so SM has it for his shelf.

Bookend

8.  Patterned socks.  Whilst not as bright as some people, I do like pattern to my socks.  Today they are grey with turquoise and lilac birds.  I shall probably wear the green ones with the owls on Brownie night.  Yesterday was pink with cats.
