My next batch of Fandom 50 entries are all going to be around the Sherlock Holmes stories. I shall start with a few of my favourite characters, then move onto various themes or 'verses I write in and finish with my favourite OCs from one particular 'verse.
Having begun by writing a drabble for each of the first ten entries this year, I've decided I'm going to try to continue, so each post will have something created for it.
My favourite version of Sherlock Holmes is the original stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Yes, I do see bits of the Granada episodes in them, but the stories are always my starting point. And therefore the key character is Holmes himself. I like his dedication to his work, his ability to make deductions where no-one else does, his insistence of both seeing and observing. And I'll happily write him in many different situations.
As soon as the morning paper was delivered, Sherlock Holmes turned to the personal columns. As expected, there was a further message from ‘Miss Smith’. Now being sure of the code, he knew what was really being said and hurried out, hailing a passing cab from the pavement. There wasn’t much time to waste if he was to reach the gang’s meeting place in time to intercept the parcel, and he wasn’t going to lose the opportunity after so much planning. In the taxi he donned his disguise, and on arriving at his destination, he leapt down and hurried inside.
