A Shipping Meme (Part One)
Sep. 18th, 2017 09:41 pmwhich I have pinched from
verdande_mi and like them I'm only answering the questions I want to answer.
1. Talk about the first ship you ever had:
Sam Tyler/Gene Hunt from Life of Mars (UK). So many possibilities. I rarely write it now, but occasionally there'll be a prompt which appeals.
2. Talk about three of the most important ships throughout your life.
Probably not important in my life, but writing-wise: Sam/Gene as above, John Watson/Greg Lestrade from BBC Sherlock, and now Lucas North/Adam Carter.
3. What’s your current OTP?
I can count six easily, so clearly I don't have One True Pairing. Actually I think there are more than six.
4. What’s your current NOTP?
John/Sherlock from BBC Sherlock
5. Do you have any poly ships?
No
6. How do you feel about love triangles?
I understand Equilateral and Isosceles have been seeing quite a lot of each other, which is fine by me.
7. How do you feel about RPF?
Not my thing.
8. Have you ever shipped yourself with a character?
No, however much I enjoy looking at the pretty.
9. Do you have many ships that never got together at all?
Silly question. Lucas and Adam have one episode together. And Guy and Much (Robin Hood BBC) hardly communicate with each other. And then there's Rabbit/Tigger ...
10. Do you ship any characters that have never met?
Technically yes, BBC Sherlock Sherlock Holmes/Stanley Hopkins
11. Talk about your favourite first kiss.
John Thornton/Margaret Hale - North & South - known within fandom simply as 'The Kiss'
12. Have you ever been disappointed when your ship finally got together?
Mostly they haven't.
13. Has a ship ever broken your heart?
No
14. How do you feel about will they/won’t they?
It generally bores me.
15. Have you ever “shipped at first sight”?
Not that I'm aware of. Although I've always known Rudybago (a multi-tentacled alien) and McCoy from Star Trek AOS go together.
16. Talk about a ship you initially disliked.
Can't think of any off the top of my head.
17. Talk about a pairing you’ve stopped shipping romantically.
John Watson/Greg Lestrade from BBC Sherlock
18. Talk about a moment which made you question an entire ship.
The giant rat of Sumatra on the Matilda Briggs - a very odd situation, although an excellent tail.
19. Have you ever shipped something despite yourself?
I have written Pot/Kettle - a tragic tale of two lovers separated and then reunited.
20. Talk about a ship you feel alone in shipping.
Guy of Gisborne/Much from Robin Hood (BBC). I am alone in shipping, although there are those who like my fics. I think they complement each other really well.
