Challenge No 9: Cross Stitch (plus an update on previous challenges)

The challenge to do some cross stitch came from  hardboiledbaby I bought myself a kit:



And most days for the past month I've spent time cross-stitching, which I've really enjoyed:





As an update - pictures of crochet Holmes have been shared elsewhere, and I finished sewing the Christmas stocking:



SM bought me a set of hard pastels for Christmas (at my request), and although I haven't used them as much as I'd like, I have done a couple of sketches:

Ooooh, amigurumi! I would love to learn how to do that! I can barely crochet. All I've made are a lopsided cowl and a really lame pair of slippers. Lovely cross stich and art as well. Multi talented!

The only other thing I've crocheted was a lopsided star! I can knit, but crochet is a totally different matter. This was hard work and I'm not keen to repeat it.

Last April I decided I needed to challenge myself to do some different things to avoid getting into a rut, so I asked my flist for suggestions. Crochet, cross stitch and art were some of the ideas, so I've been challenging myself this year to tackle 12 different things.

Trees are hard - yours look gorgeous!

I still adore the crocheted Holmes, but your other crafts have all turned out really well, too. You should be proud!

Trees are one of the things I like drawing - I like the observation needed and then seeing what comes out.

I'm glad you like crochet Holmes, and the other crafts - I've enjoyed myself this year doing different things.
