First Steps

One of my goals for this year was to work on my arts and crafts, and to that end I shall be posting a monthly progress report.  This means I can't opt out without feeling bad.  I do realise it's only myself I'm cheating on, but if it works don't knock it.

Firstly, I've begun my cross stitch.  The kit came with 16pt Aida.  That really is too small for me to see to work on, so I bought myself some 14pt.  Here's how it's begun, which I'm pleased about:

I'm not using a hoop. When I used to embroider I used a hoop, but the material is much firmer than normal cloth so it doesn't seem to need the support.
