Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial
Jun. 4th, 2018 10:41 amOn our journey home from Cambridge last week we called in at the Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial, which is the only WWII American military cemetery in the UK. It was the day after Memorial Day in the States and there had been a big memorial ceremony there.
There are nearly 4,000 graves here. SM was clearly jolted seeing the number. If I was slightly less affected, that was only a reflection of how much worse were the WWI memorials I'd visited just over a month earlier.

Like the other memorials I've visited it was very peaceful.
There are just over 5,000 listed as missing on the memorial wall
