I've been sorting through some of my mother's possessions, prior to the sale of her property, and came across some interesting family photos.  But before I share those, here are a couple of other things I found.

Firstly, a writing desk - when you first look at it, it's just a wooden box, but inside:

I'm assuming it was my grandfather's.  And then a little group of treasures: a box of cherry sticks pre-decimalisation; a set of the first decimalisation coins, which I shall pass to my granddaughter, and an old spirit level which will go to my son, who collects old tools.

And so to the photos, the first two are, I assume, my maternal grandmother's mother:

Then there are pictures of my mother and her two sisters (both older) taken in the 1930s:

My mother and her sister taken in 1944, and their oldest sister and mother from about 1950:

And my grandparents, again in the early 1950s with WT (White Trousers) the cat, and Danny, the corgi:

There's my father when he was in the Navy in WWII, and a keen cricketer:

Then we come to the wedding photos, firstly my father's brother, Jim in 1945:

Then my parents' wedding in 1954:

With their parents:

And siblings, including Jim's two children:

And the full group photo:

And lastly, a photo taken when my aunt got married in New Zealand in 1962, the family in England took this photo (I'm standing with my grandmother):

However, this is my favourite photo:
