Day 5: You get to fuck/marry/kill in one fandom.  What's the fandom and who in the fandom fits each item?

This is difficult.  I like the characters I concentrate on in my main fandoms, because otherwise I doubt I'd spend much time with them.  But I don't want to fuck any of them (most have far too many complications to even consider that) and I wouldn't want to kill someone just because I didn't like them.  So I shall go for Sanditon again.  Fuck Sidney Parker, in order to tell him the following morning he was just a one-night stand; marry Babington, who seems a really nice guy, although I know Esther's happy and I wouldn't want to break them up; and not kill but permanently remove Tom Parker.

Day 6: What is something which has surprised you about a fandom?  Like, you expected the main fandom pairing to be X/Y, but the main pairing in fandom is actually X/Z.  Or a pairing you expected to be slashed together isn't very popular?

Not any specific fandom, but in general that fans can be very protective of certain characters who they permit to behave in a dubious fashion, but completely intolerant of other fans.  The desire to protect a creation and in doing so hurt other creators.

Day 7: What is your favourite celebrity interaction from any fandom you've had?

I don't go to conventions, and have only rarely gone to a stage door, and my favourite interaction wasn't really a fandom (unless you count Julius Caesar as a fandom) and they weren't celebrities.  However, a friend and I had been to see a performance of the play at the Roundhouse in London and afterwards we'd gone into the bar nearby for a drink.  Sitting on the next table were some of the actors, and my friend had squealled 'That's Greg Hicks'  and we'd sat muttering that we couldn't go and ask for autographs because they were just having a drink, and it wouldn't be fair to disturb them, when one of them said it was fine, they'd be happy to sign for us.  So we got to chat - or I chatted, my friend was too gobsmacked at meeting Greg Hicks - and it was lovely.

Day 8: What is a kink that fandom introduced you to, and you said, "Yes, please!"

Um, competency?  Being turned into rabbits (although that is generally a result of incompetency)?  Tea and cake cures most things?

Yes, I have to remind myself to tread carefully and that most fans do not share my laissez faire attitude about ship and let ship. And fans interact with canon in different ways and develop their own head canons which they do guard sometimes with surprising violence.

My thought is that you came to fandom with your competency kink but that fandom just helped you put a name to it (and helped your kind friends put a name to it, too, so that they can write fics for you about it) but seriously when (because of your kink) I started looking at how competency/incompetency is portrayed in media, it did open my eyes.
