June Something: Days Nine to Eleven
Jun. 11th, 2020 10:27 pmDay 9: Is there any fandom you regret getting into?
No. I may no longer be in the fandom, having moved on for various reasons, but there's always been something to learn even if it doesn't turn out quite the way I've expected.
Day 10: Besides death fic, rape/non-con, what is something, no matter the pairing, you nope out of when it comes to reading?
There are all sorts of things I'll look at the tags, pairings etc and decide I'm not interested, like sci-fi and dystopia, but in the right mood and with the right author I may read them. Reader insert I won't touch with a barge pole, because how on earth can someone else decide how I will respond to something?
I will also add bad English - not the quirks that occur when the writer is not a native speaker - but where I'm forced to read every sentence three times before it makes sense, because however good the idea is, I'm not going to persevere.
Day 11: How open are you about being in fandom to your non-fandom friends/family?
SM (the husband) knows and occasionally helps with plots. TD (the daughter) knows I meet fandom friends - and has met some of them herself when she's joined us for theatre trips. Otherwise I keep the two well apart.
