Fic Title Meme

Taking my cue from corvidology and brumeier I thought I might as well have a go at this.
Look at the most recent 20 fanwork titles on AO3 and answer the following:
Unlike some, I hate finding titles and, especially for shorter fics, tend to use fairly generic ones.  So much so that when I receive the AO3 kudos message at times I have to look to see which fic it was.  Nevertheless, on we go!

1. How many are you happy with?  Nine.  I have a low happiness threshhold, so if the title conveys the content then I'm happy.

2. How many are ... not great?  Four, and basically eleven, given that if it works reasonably I'm happy, and therefore by extension anything else isn't great.

3. How many did you scramble for at the last minute?  Twelve.  Some of this is relative though - a drabble or ficlet may well be written and titled within an hour anyway.

4. How many did you know before you started writing/creating, or near the beginning?  One.  Eight Days in the Country.  Which is ironic because my original plan would have met they spent nine days in the country.

5. How many are quotes from songs or poems?  None.  Certainly not deliberately.

6. How many are other quotes?  Two.  Eight Days in the Country, and To Catch a Spy

7. Which best reflects the plot of the story/content of the fanwork? The Case of the Stolen Love Notes

8. Which best reflects the theme of the story/fanwork? Gravity or Gravy?

9. Which best reflects the character voice of the story/POV of the fanwork? Five Times Lucas Met Pooh Bear and Friends

10. Which is your favourite?  Stress Baking and Other Stories

I like Stress Baking, too. And Eight Days in the Country. You are coming up on having 1000 works in AO3 soon!!

Thank you - Stress Baking was one of those titles which just appeared. I've got a way to go before I achieve the 1000, but it's getting closer :)

Interesting! I shall have to have a look at my own! Though I don't do many ficlets so the last 20 works will stretch back quite a long way... I might wait till I've posted my fic auction gifts.

My titles only go back to early May, and of the 20, 8 are less than 500 words and 5 more are under a 1,000. It confirmed my difficulty in finding titles, but also there's much less to go on for a ficlet if you don't want to give away the whole plot. I shall be interested in what you find when you do try this meme.

If I did that meme I'd probably find that the majority of the titles on my fics are song based, it's a lot easier finding titles that way, for me anyway!

I'm impressed you can do that. It's very rare for a song title to come to me; occasionally I'll look through lists but it's rarely productive.
