Glamorgan Heritage Coast
Oct. 13th, 2021 08:31 pmWe've been away for a couple of days, enjoying the area around the Glamorgan Heritage Coast. I didn't take that many photos, but here are a few to give a flavour of the area.
We were staying in a village called Sigingstone. On our first afternoon we went for a walk and came to the nearby village of Llanmihangel which had an interesting old church. Not quite Miss Marple country, but you could imagine her ending up at the nearby manor house (currently for sale for £1.3 million) where she would undoubtably find a body.

The following day we visited the beach at Dunraven Bay

And then walked up to where there is a restored walled garden

We continued on, through some beautiful woodland

To a point where we could view the coastline. Everywhere there are sheer drops to the shore so we didn't get too close

In the afternoon we went to the beach at Nantwich Major, where I paddled!
The following morning we headed for Monknash Beach. The route down there is through a nature reserve

and onto the beach, which is typical of those in the area

We stopped in Cowbridge on the way home and visited the Physic Garden, where they had a medlar bush growing

We had a good time, and with such excellent weather we were able to spend all the daytime outside.
