My Goals at the Half Year Point
Nov. 6th, 2021 12:46 pmWhat, it's November already? Time to see how my goals are going.
Goal No 1 (Revised): To set aside time each week to keep up to date
This seems to be working (mostly). I suspect it's been slipping a bit this last couple of weeks, but weekday mornings have generally been busy, or restricted due to an early start to afternoon events. However, I am keeping more up to date on my paperwork, and am putting emails into a 'Follow Up' folder when I need to do something but don't have the time. Also, card receipts aren't all over the place.
It's been noticeable over the last couple of months how much busier the mornings have been. With my mother's slowly declining health I've swapped from visiting her in the afternoon to the morning so that she's awake when I come. School pick up for Mini Hobbit means leaving home after lunch and not getting back until early evening, so I aim to do more general tasks in the mornings. Which, added to an increase in other activities which are starting again means that what had been three free mornings a week (essentially the mornings I used to work) are now reduced to one.
Goal No 2: To listen to everything currently on my To Be Listened To list (by the end of April 22)
I now only have three of the original books on my TBL list, and I've mentally allocated them to January to April next year, which should easily work. In fact I may well have cleared off the majority of my TBL audiobooks by then, with the only ones left being various Miss Read stories where I'm reading some and listening to some.
Goal No 3: To update and continue my blog posting
I've blogged less this last couple of months, but then I've been doing more things which aren't of a particularly blogging nature. The local posts have continued so far, and will depend on where we go over the next few months as to what I can cover.
So, basically I'm achieving what I wanted to do, which is always a good sign. Nothing stunning - but I think it reflects getting into a new rhythm now that I'm retired.

Date: 2021-11-06 04:47 pm (UTC)We're just grateful my mother has lived as long as she has, which certainly wouldn't have been the case without her care home. Her long term condition means that she will continue to fade.
Lovely icon!
