National Botanic Garden of Wales
Nov. 11th, 2021 05:16 pmOn the second day of our break, we visited the National Botanic Garden of Wales. The weather wasn't condusive to many visitors, so when we arrived we had a tour round the main site by mini tractor and trailer, which was great for getting the layout.
We then began by visiting the British Birds of Prey Centre, although we didn't stay for the flying display.

From there we visited the very lovely Japanese Garden

We then walked up through the Double Walled Garden and into the Tropical House. (No photos)
After an early lunch we visited the Great Glasshouse, which is the largest single span glasshouse in the world. It is filled with plants from the five Mediterranean climate regions of the world.

After which we went for a look at the view and into the rest of the garden areas - the weather was not of the sort where strolling around would be pleasant. We hope to return next year though.

In the afternoon there was a screening of David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet. So we watched that - a beautifully shot film, Attenborough looking back at his life and finishing with a plea that life will continue.
