John brought the box downstairs and started to unpack the contents. Since Sherlock had covered almost all the available surfaces with papers he set them out carefully on the carpet.
“Wow,” said Molly.
“What are they?” Greg asked.
“Bait,” replied Sherlock.
Sherlock’s phone pinged. He glanced at the incoming text and said “Get those packed up. We have to be off. The game is afoot!”
They ran down the stairs and as they left the house Sherlock hailed a cab. “Paddington Station,” he told the driver.
Once in the taxi John asked “Where are we going?”
“No idea,” said Sherlock happily. “We need to catch the train from platform thirteen.”
“At least it’s not platform 9 and ¾,” John said.
Sherlock looked at him blankly.
“Christopher Robin never went to Hogwarts,” Molly grinned.
Sherlock glared at the pair of them.
At the station Sherlock bought tickets.
“So you do know where we’re going,” Greg said.
“No, I’ve bought tickets to Reading; all trains go to Reading.”
The train was standing on the platform and Sherlock hustled them onboard.
“I still don’t understand,” Greg moaned.
“Oh do try to keep up, Eeyore. The meeting is being held on the train.”
