At last I've finished the front of my jumper



I've started knitting squares in long strips, which I shall sew together to create a throw for my sofa.  I have a second bird one to knit, and there are a number of heirloom squares.  These are a blue tit and dancing cockerells.

Thank you :) It will be nice to have the solstice up for a month, all bright and cheerful. The blue tit worked out well - it's supposed to be a cushion, done with chunky knit on large needles but I prefer it this way.

They all look amazing! I like the idea of a throw made of knitted squares, and that heraldic cockerel one is gorgeous. I'd have a jumper of that ;) But I also really like the front of your jumper. What a nice combination of colours!

Thank you very much! I do like knitting squares, so this seemed a good way to enjoy the process and have something useful at the end. I chose the jumper because I liked the colours and the pattern appealed, although it was more complicated than I thought it would be - however, I'm really pleased with the result.

Thank you :) Sleeves come next so it won't be a vest but a jumper - which will have more use.

Thank you very much. I'm glad you like the blackbird :) The cockerels in particular were quite a challenge to knit, because the pattern doesn't become clear until near the end.

I just love the summer solstice. My husband and I visited Stonehenge on our last vacation together. Amazing. Such a wonderful memory to have, and seeing your card brings back that lovely day.

I'm very much into baby things right now; a dear young friend is pregnant, and there'll be a baby shower and a visit once the nipper is born, so I'm trying to finish two things. But I'm not as diligent as you. *points at icon* Still, one tries.

I'm so pleased you liked the summer solstice, and that it brought back a lovely memory.

My crafting goes in fits and starts, as can be seen from taking almost four months to finish the front of the jumper! Also, I craft more when there's a number of audio programmes etc I want to listen to. Have fun as you finish your latest crafting!

Oh, and the Mouse in the Rain is in my study, where I can see her from my wingchair. She is a daily delight.
