Now that I'm no longer recording a daily happy thing, it seems a shame to forget about them entirely, so here, in no particular order, are some of the recent things:
Today's writing entry in the writing meme is something you wrote for someone else.
Since I participate in a number of exchanges that gave me quite a wide selection to choose from. In addition I occasionally write ficlets for friends and last Christmas took 12 days of prompts - something I may well do again this year. In the end I decided to go for something that I wrote for an exchange, but because it was a pinch hit and I wasn't participating in the main exchange I had no expectation of getting anything back.
Nothing Out of the Ordinary
This was written for Casablanca, my favourite film of all time. It was a pinch hit for Night on a Fic Mountain, which is a small fandom exchange. AO3 has a total of 41 fics written for Casablanca, and removing crossovers and non-English stories leaves 26 works, so a very small fandom. The request was to write about life in Casablanca before the arrival of Victor Laszlo, so I took Rick Blaine, Louis Renault, and some of the staff of Rick's Bar and watched what happened during a couple of 'normal' days. It was a lovely opportunity to write something I would never normally have considered.
- The auditor turned out to be a geek, so we discussed Dr Who and Sherlock, in between why some of the figures didn't quite make sense.
- I'm not the only fan of Richard Armitage at work, so I took in the posters I bought when I went to see The Crucible for the other two to admire.
- I have fudge, although probably not for much longer.
- SM bought me some headphones, which are really good and pink. His are blue.
- I have bought myself a new hoodie, which has a cartoon sheep on the front of it.
