smallhobbitI was going to start this post about two hours ago, but the daughter phoned and we talked for about half an hour. She then rang off to phone her grandmother and I checked and replied to an email. Then she phoned back and we talked for a further forty minutes. So now my arm is aching from holding the phone for so long - I even changed hand part way through.
I thought I'd review my goals. It's a slightly shorter time than usual between reviews but there's plenty to say.
First goal - Write all the things. I've been really pleased with the way this has gone. Look at all the shiny since last time:
Two of them I'm particularly proud about: SBIGTTS, which requires writing different sorts of things, in my case one true drabble, one true double drabble, writing in a POV unusual to me, writing from the POV of an animal and writing a canon scene from the POV of a minor character. The other is the 10 fandom spread - I've managed to produce fan flashworks in 10 different fandoms.
Second goal - Learn some German. Objective achieved. Except we've now booked our next holiday - a slightly longer coach tour, this time to Hamburg, Lubeck and Germany's Hanseatic coast. So I'd like to learn some more German. I just need to decide how best to do it. All suggestions (including those made last time, which I will have forgotten) gratefully received.
Third goal - Survive a year on the PCC without getting involved in anything else. That one's a failure, but for good reason. Our vicar leaves at the beginning of January, so I'm going to be helping with the Family Service at the smaller of our two churches. Of all the things I could have ended up doing, this is one that I feel positive about.
So yes, good progress.
