Time for me to look back at my goals and resolutions.  And also to consider what my next set of goals should be.  In two months time I shall have completed a year with the current goals and when I do what could be termed an annual review, it would be good to look ahead as well as back.

Goal One: Write all the things.  The new pretty since last time:

I'm still two badges behind [livejournal.com profile] fengirl88, who isn't competing with me.  I see her as a target to aspire to.  This includes three new fandoms, and my latest, as yet unposted, entry for [livejournal.com profile] fan_flashworks is for Call the Midwife, a fourth.  I've also written 12 ficlets for 12 Days of Christmas; Secret Santa for [livejournal.com profile] lewis_challenge, as well as two roulette entries for their Valentine's Challenge; and a Spooks based [livejournal.com profile] picfor1000

Resolution One was to keep a daily record of all what I was writing.  I wrote 12,432 words in January.  The interesting thing is that I feel slightly sad when I see that I haven't written anything on a day.  As I said when I made the resolution, I'm not recording the day's wordage if I'm writing over a period of time, but simply seeing a note that I wrote something feels very positive.

Goal Two: Learn some German.  That fizzled out after we went on holiday.  I have no great inclination to do anything at the moment, so I think I shall count that as achieved.  Yes, I learnt some German.  I could do with learning more, but that wasn't the aim.

Resolution Two was to write down three things to do each day.  I suppose you could say I am keeping the resolution - although some days there aren't three things that need doing, but that's okay because the limit of three was to make it attainable.  I don't always do all three things, but it's definitely helping, firstly by reminding me of things that need doing and secondly I don't end up with lists all over the place.

Goal Three: Survive a year on the PCC without getting involved in anything else.  Hmm.  I've said I'm not standing next year - yay!  I've been told that I can still be on the selection panel (of two) to choose the new vicar, if I wish to put myself forward.  A dilemma - I could say, no, no time, but if I want the right person shouldn't I be prepared to be involved?

All suggestions for next year's goals will be considered.  I certainly want one to be something about writing.  The other two are currently totally in the air.
