Writing, A Meme and Other Jottings
Mar. 25th, 2016 08:58 pmIt's been Lonely Prompts week over on
comment_fic which has been fun. Today's theme was as many lonely prompts filled for either one fandom or multi-fandoms (one prompt for fandom). Me being me, I decided to spend most of the day - it's Good Friday, I have the time - writing for it. I managed 12 prompts for different fandoms, including Winnie-the-Pooh, Call the Midwife, and a number of my more usual fandoms.
And on
fan_flashworks I achieved my 100 works badge:

Last Friday
blythechild posted the following writing meme, so I thought I'd have a go:
1. Have you ever written in an unusual place? Where?
Last year on our coach holiday I would write in motorway service stations, standing up on the far side of the coach.
2. The word/phrase you know you overuse, but can't get rid of it.
There are probably several, but more often I find a particular descriptive word I like and then use it three times in one paragraph.
3. Do you keep notes? Do you have a notebook? What does it look like? Add a picture/screencap of your notes.
No. However I do write in a notebook when on a train/coach/holiday. Have a picture.

4. What's the hardest part of a fic to write for you? (angst/fluff/smut, exposure/plot twist/ending)
I rarely write smut so I'll ignore that. Probably fluff (or pure angst), both tend to head towards hurt/comfort if I don't keep them under control.
5. Have you ever based something in your fic on your personal experience? What was it?
Any time I write about village life it will have echoes of when we lived in one. Otherwise things slip in, but I think that's inevitable if you write about a present day fandom when you could, theoretically meet your characters in the street.
6. What's that one fic you want to write but somehow know you never will?
I'm not aware there is one. Something 25,000 words long? But I don't actually want to write that much, so not really.
7. What do you usually do when you procrastinate?
Find something vitally important I need to check on the net.
8. What's the funniest typo you've made?
No idea.
9. Do you listen to music when you write? What kind?
Not specifically. If there is music around then I semi-listen, but I've learnt to block out most of SM when he's singing or practising the piano, and most of his choice of music.
10. Your favourite comment a reader has left on your fic?
Any comment where someone says I have made them smile or laugh.
