“We should buy Mrs Hudson some flowers to apologise for dropping the goldfish on her when she was coming upstairs.”

“We should take Molly out to lunch otherwise she will never let you back inside her lab.”

Holmes’ investigation had led us to a club that provided for the needs of discerning gentlemen.  Whilst he was making his enquiries I permitted myself the opportunity to appraise the ladies who were employed there.  One in particular caught my eye, a tall young thing with very beautiful hair.  I debated whether it would be possible to invite her out for supper.  However, when I went to her dressing room I was horrified to see a wig on the stand and a young man removing his make-up.  And then I heard Holmes remark drolly, “My dear Watson, that’s no lady.”
