Responding to a challenge

morelindo in response to the Snowflake Challenge Day 15 issued a challenge to others to talk about a comm you love.  This is my acceptance of her challenge.

It's a comm that many of my flist are aware of, but one of which I recently became a maintainer, with scfrankles namely sherlock60 I suspect I have written about this comm before, but not that recently.  The idea is that for each of the 60 ACD Sherlock Holmes stories those interested write a 60 word drabbly thing.  Every week we take a different story and the 60 words need only have a tenuous link to the ACD story; it can be something that led up to it, what happened next, or picking up on a case that Watson casually drops in at the beginning of the story but never mentions again.

I should point out at this juncture that scfrankles does all the hard work and I add the occasional helpful (or otherwise) comment.  We also have a discussion post every week, in which we consider the dubious time frame, the Victorian attitudes, how many wives Watson actually had and the preponderance of the name Violet.  We highlight the things we like about the stories and answer each other's questions.

Of course none of this would have been possible without the foresight of spacemutineer who began the comm and those who did all the hard work in the past flawedamythyst , methylviolet10b and tweedisgood .  So many thanks to you all.
