End of Term
Jul. 10th, 2014 09:45 pmSome of you have very kindly said how much they enjoy my posts about Brownies, so for you, and anyone else who may be interested, this is my final report until the autumn.
Last week we enrolled five new Brownies. It would have been six, but one is moving to Cornwall in the summer, so it was suggested she wait until she finds a new pack. We finished the term with 22 girls, which was really pleasing (having lost a couple during the term). Four are now leaving - three are ten or almost ten, the other is moving to China. We've already had enquiries, so we should have a good number to start next term.
Today we went to the local climbing wall. The girls were split into two groups. I had one group in the bouldering room, where they could climb to a limited height and there was a slide and monkey bars and thick crash mats. They enjoyed charging around for a while and then got bored, so I challenged them to climb through the hoops, starting with the easiest, which kept them busy (nothing like a good challenge) for the rest of the time. We then swapped over with the other group and they had the opportunity to climb the main wall. Some did better than others, but they all had a go.
And that was the end of term. They all went off happily, calling out "see you next term". And I came home to my glass of wine.
