I'm starting to sound like Joyce Grenfell

A nice Christmassy table decoration with a candle in the middle. So easy. Just a bit of oasis, some tinsel, a couple of baubles and a stick on bow. Funnily enough, if you pick up the decoration by the candle it falls apart. The wire to hold the baubles in place will not hold if pushed into the tinsel, since it needs to be pushed into the oasis. And, oh look, the sticky bit at the back of the bow has come off. But, overall, the final result did look quite effective. Parents were encouraged into our meeting room to carry the decoration themselves.
And felt stockings - two halves to be glued together with a bit of ribbon as a hanging loop. We didn't have any Brownies glued to the tables, but that's only because PVA glue isn't that strong. It did help if the halves both faced the same direction when glued together. And the loop wasn't stuck completely inside the stocking. And don't put the candy cane inside the stocking until the glue has dried, because - oh yes, that's why - the stocking comes unstuck. We let the parents carry the very sticky stockings home too.
We don't have craft evenings too often - it takes us a while to recover between them.
