Snowflake Challenge Days 7 to 9

Day 7 - In your own space, create a love meme for yourself.  Let people tell you how amazing and awesome and lovable you are.
This is where my inner Ferret comes to the fore.  Because really there is no question about it ;)  I do however promise to tell everyone on my current flist who posts that they are indeed awesome.

Day 8 - In your own space, share a favourite piece of original canon (a TV episode, a song, a favorite interview, a book, a scene from a movie, etc) and explain why you love it so much.
For me, it’s the courtship between John Watson and Mary Morstan in The Sign of Four.  The awkwardness, and the genuine love between the two, makes a great relationship.  Which is why, although I’m happy to have Holmes/Watson post-Reichenbach (or Watson/Lestrade which makes more sense of the unexplained wife), I don’t see them together in any way pre-Reichenbach.

Day 9 - In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.
Firstly my longest fic, Sherlock Holmes at the end of WWI, with both Holmes and Hopkins injured and Watson seeking to care for them.  The one I named Watson1918 until it acquired a proper title.  Plenty of world building, OCs, and I was (as I have said elsewhere) very pleased with it. A Study in Recuperation.
Next I've chosen my Small Fandom BigBang from last year, because it was Call The Midwife, a series I enjoy; strong competent women, suitably fluffy moments, but not ignoring the realities of life.  Answering The Call
And lastly, a sonnet, written about Antic Dispostion's version of Henry V, which they portray as being acted by soldiers in WWI, 500 years after the Battle of Agincourt.  Thus Honour Calls

I love the work you do for Brownies and your pastoral work. I love that you involve yourself in your community, and I love that you're adventurous enough to try new skills. You're always encouraging, and you're incredibly productive, yourself. I also am jealous about the number of times you go to the theatre! ♥

Day 7 –
“You will know them by their fruits.” The two words I most associate with you (and most admire about you) are consistency and helper. If you committee to something, you do it. Whether that be in the non-online world with your church and Brownie work (which I can only see through your journals), or through your interactions online. You provide help when others may not realize they need help (odds are this has produce mixed results) and to those who ask. I think you care deeply for those you interact with and you show that through your actions.

The consistency extends to your writing. You fully participating in communities and meeting deadlines with good works. I haven’t read all of your fics, but with the ones I read I love the subtle caring you have between Holmes and Watson. If feels right to me. You embrace silliness with The Gang and all of their antics.

Also, I didn’t expect the New Years e-card you sent, and that action touched me quite a bit.

With that said, I’m looking forward to continuing to get to know you and see what cool things you produce either with crafts or writing.

Day 8 –
I think the John and Mary relationship is an area sorely mistreated in fics. I agree that those two genuinely loved each other. Fics where John cheats on Mary with Holmes grate me the wrong way.

I found a few Watson/Lestrade fics and really enjoyed them. I can totally see the appeal of that ship.

Day 9 –
I’ve been meaning to tell you that I did finish Study in Recuperation. I liked it and would read it again (thus I rec bookmarked it). Your OCs were wonderful to read about and I even want to know more about them. :)

I love seeing theatre with you and hearing what you think about plays. I really like talking to you and hanging out with you, I think you do such interesting and good work with your church community.

And you have also proven that we can spend a few days in close quarters and not want to kill each other. A proper test of friendship if ever there was one!
