Challenge No 10: Origami

If everything had gone to plan, this month I'd have been cooking something from a different culture.  But without being sure of a day when I could devote myself to the cooking, I decided to go with a different challenge and not one suggested by my flist.  As part of my birthday present from my son and his wife I was given an origami set.  So I decided to attempt origami, after all, it satisfied the terms of the challenge, being to try something new.  I managed all but two of the pieces - those two the instructions were impossible to follow, so I threw them away.



I was also finishing off my cross stitch.  I really enjoyed the cross stitch and have ordered myself another bookmark, since I had an Amazon voucher to use.  This time it's more complicated, and part of a Monet painting of the water lily pond.  I may well have the completion of this as one of my goals for next year.  Those of you who remember the little box I sewed from Debriswoman's kit, may like to know I am indeed using it to store my current craft project.

Thank you. I thought we might have a go with the Brownies, but unless it's very simple I can see a total disaster, and a subsequent loss of patience (from the leaders, if not the girls!)

I went through a phase as a child where I got really into origami and I remember making the flower, penguin, and heart. It's really fun seeing those patterns again.

The sunflower/black-eyed susan book mark looks great! Is the bookmark currently in use or waiting it's next book?

The origami was fun to do - something different.

I'm glad you like the sunflower. I'm not letting it anywhere near a book - this is for display purposes only ;) Especially since I often carry books in my bag and it might suffer a little.
