She'd wanted to be a nurse since she was nine, but then when she was drawn to being a paramedic. However, she couldn't get a place to train when she left college at 18, so went into pediatric nursing instead, which was still a strong second choice. From there she moved into pediatric A&E, but it was a smaller hospital, so she was the sole pediatric nurse on duty, and she felt unsupported, finally returning to the pediatric ward. At the same time she was starting to apply as a student paramedic (she'd taken a driving course so she could drive an ambulance), got accepted and at the beginning of May began her training.
