Craft - Month 6
Oct. 27th, 2020 05:42 pmMost of my craft this month has been knitting, and I've nearly finished the front of my granddaughter's jumper - which may just be done for Christmas.
But I did cross stitch a bookmark for our wedding anniversary (in place of a card):

Christmas ornaments continue. I finished the second toy soldier and knitted the first bauble - I'm planning on doing a few more next month:

I knitted an angel for my granddaughter to put on their Christmas tree, and am working on Santa's clothes:

I also went to a Dare to Dabble session, where we were doing some decoupage:

I have plans to do some more bottles at home, because the cork is a switch which means the bottle lights up:

Date: 2020-10-27 06:31 pm (UTC)Next month I'm planning to start a new knitting and craft community if you're interested. It's to be called get_knitted ;)

Date: 2020-10-27 07:08 pm (UTC)I am interested. I presume you will do a plug on your own journal so I hear about it - if not, nudge me!

Date: 2020-10-27 09:26 pm (UTC)I will certainly TRY to remember to advertise on my journal, lol!
I've been taking part in a write every day thing and taking to someone there spurred me to start knitting again since I have 6 unfinished projects, so I thought a knit every day community might be fun. Didn't seem fair to restrict it to just knitters though, so I'm opening it up to all crafts and I'll add tags as needed. Hoping it will be fun and encourage people to track their progress with projects

Date: 2020-10-29 03:07 pm (UTC)I hope you finish your granddaughter's jumper in time. I'm sure you will. :-) I love that wedding anniversary bookmark, and your Christmas decorations are great. I think the bauble is my favourite.

Date: 2020-10-30 06:51 pm (UTC)Knitting and cross-stich seem relaxing once you know what you are doing <3
I love the uniqueness of your wedding anniversary 'card', pretty and sweet.

Date: 2020-10-30 08:34 pm (UTC)I wouldn't expect toy soldiers in Christmas stockings any more. When boys played with soldiers it would certainly have happened (they are small enough to go into stockings), and my father had some in the late 1920s. I think it would have been unlikely to be chocolate, more likely candy canes and similar.
I find both knitting and cross-stitching relaxing, although cross-stitching requires more concentration - good for blocking out other thoughts.
