Sunshine Challenge - Day Five - Pan

I have written one ficlet featuring Pan: it's Wind in the Willows, with Portly the Otter Drawing Him On

I've written a few fics while listening to music, mainly Spooks: The Café de Paris (1940s music), Once in a Blue Moon (Tchaikovsky, Swan Lake), To Catch a Spy (again 1940s, Sanditon crossover).  There's also a BBC Sherlock fic A Trip to the Ballet (Tchaikovsky, Nutcracker).

I enjoy music and old-fashioned musicals, and also ballet/dance performances, particularly with my love of Matthew Bourne's New Adventures.

Earlier this week I finished the last of four monthly online Re-Connect sessions (for the over 55s) run by New Adventures, each of which was based on their production of Swan Lake.  Those were excellent - two hours of movement.  I'm now looking at doing some online ballet classes with a different organisation and have a free class in a couple of weeks time to see what I think.

Online ballet sounds wonderful! I like following dance workout vids, but I didn't think about actually doing online classes.

I've tried the odd vid, but I don't have the discipline to do them regularly. Whereas with an online class I sign up and then I have a set time to do them.

That's a good point, I choose videos randomly and often, choosing the video is the hardest part (at least the most time consuming). I need to get back into a regular routine again.

The things we can do remotely via internet calls is still amazing to me. I love that you've been enjoying some ballet lessons this way!

Yes - one of the few positives of the current situation is that I've widened my experience of some things, which I would never have done otherwise.

I used to do ballet and I miss it so much - although I don't regret quitting, because I had no interest in going en pointe, haha. I keep trying online ballet classes but they never quite work out for me. Hopefully someday in the future when it's safe again I can look into something!

I doubt I shall be going en pointe - I haven't done any actual ballet since I was a child. The Matthew Bourne dance isn't ballet as such, although it utilises many of the movements. This is a class for over 50s, suitable for beginners, so I think I shall be safe!
