Having had a few months with low word count, this month was much better. I've written 18K words, so I'm now at 83.5K for the year, only 4K down from where I'd be ideally. Which is good, but I can't say it's really been that satisfying.
Just under half of those words were for
watsons_woes July Writing Prompts, a daily challenge. If I'm honest, I'll say I haven't really enjoyed it. This may be partly due to writing a casefic on a daily basis, interspersed with the Ferret and friends when the prompt wouldn't work. But I suspect if I hadn't had the case to spur me on there were days when I wouldn't have written anything. The casefic (finished today) is An Unfolding Case with Ferret and Friends as the lighter one. The latter is not yet complete - I have a prompt from
mafief which will be going in at some point - but each chapter stands alone anyway.
Other regular contributions which I did enjoy was the week
brumeier hosted Comment Fic on LJ, because there are always prompts aimed specifically at me, particularly since there can't be a week without Werewolf!Lucas. In addition
ushobwri had its annual trope fest, and I wrote a Spooks based response for each trope There's A Trope For That
I'm continuing with
fan_flashworks and am pleased about my latest badges, which include 400 individual works for that comm:

Also, for
allbingo Winterfest I completed another 2x2 bingo, as part of my Spooks retirement era 'verse, It's Only July

And for the Gravesdiggers birthday auction for Rupert Graves birthday, proceeds to Young Minds, I wrote The Perfect Surprise for EventHorizon. It's BBC Sherlock Mycroft Holmes/Greg Lestrade. It's already received the highest number of kudos for my fics this year, which puts it comfortably within the top 10% of all my fics.
