Crafts - September 2021

As I said yesterday, less writing means more crafting!

Plenty of knitting:

I finished mini Hobbit's scarf



I finished another square (Botanical gardens: allotment) for my throw and sewed the first eight heart based squares together:

 

I began work on mini Hobbit's Christmas cardigan:

   

I've started work on the Harry Potter scarf to go with the hat (also present from The Daughter):



And I finally finished the elephant I was making:



Cross stitch wise I've begun my Christmas cards:

 

And tomorrow afternoon is Dare to Dabble.

You've got so much done on so many projects, I'm in awe!

Everything is looking great. How many squares will be going into the throw?

Thank you - I rather like doing a monthly post, because it reminds me just what I have done.

I'm not sure how many squares will be needed for the throw. I'll knit some and then see what they look like and add some more until I've reached the number I need for the bed.

I like the penguin card - it's going to my husband, so I shall get to see it. The winter scene will have Santa in his sleigh and is destined for The Daughter.

It will need to be quite big to cover a bed, so I don't think you'll finish it anytime soon, but it's a good ongoing project to have.

Awesome! It's always good to keep your favourites where you can enjoy them.

Yes, I'm not planning on having any overhang - it will be a pretty additional layer for the winter months.

I really need to try some smaller cross stitch. I’m forever picking big ones that I never finish.

I did a beautiful Klimt garden one, which took about 20 months, but since then I've done a couple of smaller hoops and the cards take about 10-15 days, depending on how much I do each day.

That's a lot of knitting! The elephant is gorgeous and your Christmas cards are going to be wonderfully unique.

You have been busy! I really love the colours of the heart squares, they look really pretty together. And the cheerful little penguin card is very cute!

Thank you. I chose various shades of yellow and aqua/green for the throw, so it should be cheerful but not vibrant, since it's for our bed.

Everything that you've made looks AMAZING! :-D I especially like the scarf, squares and the unicorn cardigan! The Christmas cards are also coming along very nicely. I haven't even thought about Christmas yet, but I guess you need to be a bit more organized if you're cross stitching your Christmas cards!
