Share a favorite memory about fandom

Fandom is all about friends - online friends who distance means I'm less likely to meet, and those who I have met.  So a shout out to all of you!  These are friends who I've met because of a particular fandom and yet the friendship has progressed well past the starting point and I value you all the more for that reason.

My favourite single memory will be the one I always mention, because it's unlikely to be surpassed.  Going to Meiringen in Switzerland at the beginning of May one year with seven other Sherlock fans.  We visited the Reichenbach Falls and commemorated Sherlock Holmes' death at the hands of Professor Moriarty.



It's the only time I have been to Switzerland and I really loved seeing somewhere so different - snow in May!  Mountains.  Waterfalls.

Going to Meiringen in Switzerland at the beginning of May one year with seven other Sherlock fans. We visited the Reichenbach Falls and commemorated Sherlock Holmes' death at the hands of Professor Moriarty.

Oh, this is so lovely, thank you! I never actually thought of going there. But I have visited Baker street 221B the only time I was in London!

If I hadn't gone with fandom friends (and I have been to Baker Street with them as well) I wouldn't have gone. The waterfall was at its height, being full of the melting snow.

I'm seriously jealous! I'd love to visit Meiringen...and Switzerland in general! Saying that, I'm happy that you were able to take such a meaningful trip and form such a wonderful fandom memory. :-D

Switzerland was amazing in general. And seeing Meiringen was wonderful. It is, as you can imagine, a very photogenic place.
